Roma in shock £25m bid for strong Chelsea centre-back

By

Italian side Roma are ready ready to make a shock move for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, Calciomercato.it has reported.

The Frenchman is a backup choice for boss Jose Mourinho with John Terry and Gary Cahill the two regular centre-backs in the squad.

This week, the 20-year-old declared that he is ready to play in any position as long as he enjoys regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge but with Baba Rahman joining the Blues he will struggle to secure a place in the Portuguese's side.

If not on a permanent move, Roma are ready to sign the player on loan with a right-to-buy option for the end of the season.

The Giallorossi are also monitoring Lyon's Samuel Umtiti and Stuttgart's Antonio Rudiger.
