Rafa Benitez: We're almost there

By

Coach Rafa Benitez says Napoli are very close to the next round of the Europa League but has warned his players against complacency ahead of next's week game at the Arena Khimki.

The Partenopei did not panic after conceding after only two minutes into the game with striker Gonzalo Higuain claiming his first European hat-trick to give Napoli a comfortable lead ahead of the second leg.

"It's a nice step towards the next round," Benitez said.

"The team approached the game with a winning mentality and the lads reacted brilliantly after going down so early in the game, this is just the spirit I want to see on the pitch.

"I would have loved to score a fourth goal because we had chances to do it but I would say this is an important step to reach the next round.

"We still have a lot of work to do to make it through because the second leg in Russia will not be easy but we're ready for the challenge.

"Gonzalo is fit, he's a champion and very important for us.

"But I'm happy with the overall performance of the squad, a 3-1 scoreline is a positive one and having bounced back from going behind is a sign of strength."
