Napoli manager Rafa Benitez believes his offensive mentality is the reason why Marek Hamsik is struggling to perform in his side.
Last season the 27-year-old was a shadow of the player who has shone under former manager Walter Mazzarri.
And during Saturday's press conference, Benitez was asked about the possibility of using the Slovakian in a different position.
"I was thinking of using him as left-back so he can move from the back," joked the manager during Saturday's press conference.
"I'm joking, of course. When we attack the opposition defends with five men.
"He did exceptionally well alongside Cavani but that's because Napoli played on the counter attack.
"We're now a more offensive team and Hamsik has very little space to maneuver in."
Defender Henrique was not used during Napoli's first game away against Genoa and reports suggest the player is not happy to sit on the bench.
"It's normal that a player is upset when he's not playing," the manager said about the Brazilian.
"We wanted to add depth to the squad and we wanted to do it by increasing the number of players to 20.
"Players like Henrique will get their chance, especially if we keep going in Europe, it's good to have healthy competition in the side."
