Boss Rudi Garcia was relatively happy after Roma came back from a two-goal deficit to draw against Lazio this afternoon.
A below-par first half display allowed the hosts to open up a two-goal cushion with Stefano Mauri and Pereira Gomes but the Giallorossi bounced back in the second half to move on level points with Juventus.
"When the match ends 2-2 it's better to come back from 0-2 down rather than the opposite," Garcia told Sky Sport Italy.
"The lads played an excellent second half, it's never easy to come back from a two goal deficit.
"[In the first half] we gave possession away cheaply, but also in the second half. Almost all their chances were the result of our gifts. We knew that we had to be careful against the pace of [Antonio] Candreva and Felipe Anderson."
Captain Francesco Totti rolled back the years with two second half goals and Garcia says the 38-year-old is a genius of the game.
"Our captain does what he does because he's a genius and he showed it again today," the Frenchman explained.
The draw means Roma go level on points with Juventus and Garcia will be supporting Napoli when they take on Juventus later on today.
"For now we're first, on level points," Garcia declared.
"It's a shame because our objective was to go top alone. Let's wait for tonight where clearly a Napoli win would be good for us."
