Roma coach Rudi Garcia says defender Leonardo Castan is recovering well after undergoing brain surgery.
The Frenchman was also full of praise for tomorrow's opposition Sassuolo during this afternoon's press conference as he described Eusebio Di Francesco's side as "tough" to face.
"Yes, obviously they [Sassuolo and Empoli] are the two teams doing more than what was expected from them," Garcia said.
"But it's not just this season for Sassuolo, they have 15 points from seven games and they last lost seven games ago. They play football, they are offensively strong, it will be a tough game.
"I will start with a line-up which can give me all three points. This is what I want and this is what the players want. If we're 100% ready we can win but that won't be the case if we're 99% ready.
"Leo [Castan] is recovering, he's no longer in intensive care. We exchanged messages this morning and he's ready to return as soon as possible.
"We're happy everything went according to plans, we now just have to be patient."
Midfielder Kevin Strootman made his long-awaited comeback against Torino and according to the Frenchman he could be in tomorrow's starting line-up.
"Kevin is ready but when a player is out for so long, he can't be 100% fit straight away," said Garcia.
"One has to play, to train. Kevin is one of the best players in the squad, he's very important. All top European clubs chased him so his quality cannot be denied.
"He's an option for tomorrow, but just one of the many."
