Roma coach Rudi Garcia was visibly disappointed after his side's 7-1 defeat in the Champions League.
The Giallorossi were humiliated 7-1 by Bayern Munich on Tuesday night but can still be optimistic after Manchester City could only manage a draw away against CSKA Moscow.
"We failed tactically and also in respect to aggressiveness," Garcia said after the game.
"We let a team like Bayern with strong players enjoy possession. I'm the first one who made mistakes, the players are not to blame. The attitude and the strategy in the early stages was wrong.
"We were virtual spectators and I didn't like it, we should have been more compact and aggressive.
"As for the second half, it's a shame, we could have scored more if not for goalkeeper Neuer. And I'm also disappointed for the conceded goals.
"Our job is now to look forward to the league. The only good news [of the day] is the draw between CSKA and City, meaning that we're still second in the group.
"But we have to accept the defeat because it helps us understand what needs to be done to get closer to the world's best. We're second and can still qualify, but for sure not if we play like tonight."
