Roma coach Rudi Garcia was delighted after his side eased to a 5-1 win against CSKA Moscow in their first Champions League game of the season.
Juan Iturbe opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the game with Gervinho adding a second four minutes later, Maicon a third on the 20th minute and Gervinho finishing the first half in style with his personal brace.
The Giallorossi added a fifth minutes after the start of the second half through a Sergei Ignashevich own goal with Ahmed Musa getting the only goal for the visitors late in the second half.
"I knew there was no need to motivate the players mentally," Garcia said after the match.
"We also knew we could be dangerous against this team, we took full advantage of our quality.
"We took advantage of Gervinho and Iturbe [on the wings] but also Pjanic, Maicon and Nainggolan.
"All players have to perform to win 5-1, from [goalkeeper] Morgan De Sanctis to [striker] Francesco Totti.
"It was a beautiful Roma, playing with short passes and lots of movements, putting pressure on the opposition."
Davide Astori and Juan Iturbe are injury concerns for the Giallorossi and the manager says the two will be assessed later on during the week.
"We will assess the two of them this week," added Garcia.
"I don't know how serious both injuries are but it seems Davide [Astori] sprained his knee."
