"He is the best left back in Germany and he loves Manchester United" - £35million star on his way to Old Trafford?

By

Augsburg defender Philipp Max wants to join Manchester United, it has been claimed.

The Daily Star has revealed that boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring the 24-year-old to Old Trafford.

And a source close to the player believes the youngster is one of the best left-backs in Germany.

"He is keen to move up in the career, he loves the Premier League and is ready to join Manchester United – his favourite club," the source told CalcioInsider.

"Philipp is the best (left back in Germany) and at his peak now, Augsburg would want around €40m."

The contract of the player with his club expires in 2022.
