Medical scheduled, announcement soon: Arsenal's second summer signing to be made official this week

By

Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira could have his Arsenal medical in Russia while Uruguay prepare for the World Cup, Football Italia has claimed.

The Uruguay international is all set to become Unai Emery's second summer signing for the club.

The midfielder has a transfer clause of €25million but the Gunners reached an agreement with the Italian Serie A club for €30m in order to split payment over three years.

And they are eager to complete the transfer before the end of the World Cup Finals.

The Gunners have already added experienced defender Stephan Lichtsteiner to their squad and have released nine players earlier this week.

Marc Bola, Santi Cazorla, Alexander Crean, Aaron Eyoma, Ryan Huddart, Chiori Johnson, Hugo Keto, Per Mertesacker and Tafari Moore were released by the club.

Tolaji Bola, Josh Dasilva, Vlad Dragomir, Yassin Fortune, Deyan Iliev and Jack Wilshere have been offered new deals.
