"Chelsea are favourites" - Blues in pole position to secure services of Arsenal target

By

Chelsea are favourites to land Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez in the summer transfer window, according to Metro.

Reports from yesterday afternoon claimed that Arsenal have joined the race to secure the services of the Colombia international.

Manager Arsene Wenger has identified the 25-year-old as one who could strengthen the Arsenal offensive department next season.

But it now seems that the Blues are in pole position after they conceded defeat in the race to sign Alvaro Morata.

Morata is expected to become Manchester United's second summer signing with Rodriguez also embarking on a new experience in the English Premier League.

The Colombian is available for £70million but the two London clubs will try to get him for £50million.
