Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United given fresh hope in striker chase

By

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been handed fresh hope in their pursuit of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the 27-year-old and goalkeeper Mariano Andujar were physically and verbally attacked by fifteen black-hooded men after Napoli's defeat at home against Lazio on Sunday.

Andujar was in his car, followed by Higuain in a taxi when they were attacked and insulted heavily leaving the two under shock, especially the goalkeeper who had his car's windshield destroyed.

The two players escaped uninjured but it is rumoured that the striker is ready to leave the city.

It is not the first time Napoli players are targeted by criminals.

Two years ago, captain Marek Hamsik was mugged at gunpoint an hour after a game against Sampdoria and striker Edinson Cavani was forced to relocate his family to a residential complex with armed security after their home was broken into.
