Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi says Mattia De Sciglio's sending off was the turning point in their 1-1 draw against Torino.
The Rossoneri took an early lead against Giampiero Ventura's side but were immediately put under heavy pressure by the hosts who enjoyed more possession in the second half after the 22-year-old was sent off just before the break.
"After taking the lead we had a chance to add a second," Inzaghi said.
"We should have been more in control when it was still eleven against eleven. Once down to ten men it was gone.
"We also conceded again from a set-piece, we definitely have to do something about this.
"The players gave everything out there, I also added Alex to defend set-pieces better, it's incredible how we conceded from a corner immediately after [he came on]."
It's Milan second non-win result this week but Inzaghi is not yet ready to panic over a top-three finish.
"We shouldn't focus on that," the Italian said.
"We have to improve in terms of personality. We have the Italian Cup coming up on Tuesday and we'll try to do our best [against Sassuolo].
"Playing back-to-back games is good, it will give us an opportunity to show the same form we showed against Napoli and Roma. We're not as strong as we were before the Christmas, I can't explain why but I know one word to bounce back: work."
