Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi says his side has to improve ahead of Saturday's away game against Sampdoria.
The Rossoneri wasted a golden opportunity to move up to third place in the table as they went down by 2-0 against Palermo at the San Siro Stadium and Inzaghi admits there is room for improvement in his squad.
"We lacked something after they took the lead," Inzaghi said after the game.
"The lads tried their best but maybe it wasn't enough.
"We struggled in a number of occasions during the start of the game but we then had enough chances to take the lead.
"Unfortunately we went down after an unlucky own goal and from there things were not easy. We have to use such defeats to learn, to grow.
"Today I tried the 4-2-4 formation to help strikers, I have to reflect on the mistakes I made.
"I'm sorry we didn't perform the way our fans wanted but the players need their support, especially during this moment.
"We have to improve, definitely, because we have a tough game coming up on Saturday."
