Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi says his team's position in table reflects the positive start to the season.
The Rossoneri produced a fine display against an excellent Fiorentina side but dropped out of the top places in the Italian Serie A as they now lie sixth in the table on 15 points.
"Defensively we played a very good game," Inzaghi said during his post-match press conference.
"We're disappointed because we took the lead and we could have done better in a number of occasions.
"Also we had the ball when Ilicic [scored] but we're in front of a number of teams who thought they were going to be in front of us at this stage of the season so we have to continue like this.
"I put Bonaventura in because he's quality, we improved after he came in, El Shaarawy had two shots, Menez had one.
"I saw a lot of positive things tonight but also things we have to work on.
"In the last 15 minutes we opted for the 4-2-4 and took some risks because Fiorentina were pacy on the counter.
"Our focus is now on Wednesday because it will not be easy as Cagliari are doing well."
