Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy says the three points taken from the Verona game were vital for the Rossoneri.
Filippo Inzaghi's men again failed to keep a clean sheet but took full advantage of a brilliant performance from Japan's Keisuke Honda who scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season.
"It was a very difficult game, we knew it," El Shaarawy said after the game.
"Verona is an excellent side but we played a great game, we're happy because these are three vital points.
"I did what the coach asked me to do: I had to be close to Sulley [Muntari] when [Michael] Essien pressed high up the pitch."
The 21-year-old was replaced late in the second half and says he was upset because he could have done better.
"I was upset when I was substituted because I could have done better but I'm still happy and three points is what's important," the striker said.
"It's normal to be upset when you don't play, everyone wants to be out there.
"[But] Inzaghi and I have a very solid relationship, he has faith in me and I do my best to repay his faith when I'm involved.
"Fiorentina will be another tough game but we'll try to keep this positive run going."
