Milan midfielder Andrea Poli says the players lacked hunger during last Sunday's 1-1 draw away at Cesena.
The Rossoneri host struggling Chievo on Saturday evening and the 25-year-old knows three points are vital if they are to keep fighting for a top three finish.
"We played a very good first half against Cesena," Poli told Milan Channel.
"In the second half we lacked hunger but we will do our best on Saturday [against Chievo] to win an important game.
"The 4-2-3-1 [formation] is giving nice results but we did well with the 4-3-3 as well. We can perform using both formations as both of them suit our characteristics.
"We have an objective but we have to take it one game at a time.
"We have to start getting points to reach these objectives but clearly, we have to improve and work hard in training.
"We desperately need the three points after two consecutive draws although in all fairness our position in the table is pretty good.
"We're now focused on doing well against Chievo before the international break, we play at home in front of our home support so we're ready to win."
