Milan close to deal for Chelsea's Marco van Ginkel

By

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho spoke about the possibility of reaching an agreement for Marco van Ginkel, on Thursday.

According to Gazzetta.it, the two discussed the transfer over a phone call with the manager ready to let the youngster leave on loan.

Galliani was full of praise for the manager as he confirmed that the relationship between the two has always been a strong one.

"I always respected him," the vice-president said of Mourinho. "And this was confirmed during our conversation."

Milan are determined to use the £16m gained from the transfer of Mario Balotelli but intend to do it wisely, with the 21-year-old to provide versatility in midfield as he can play in a number of positions.
