New Juventus signing: Why I rejected Chelsea and Arsenal

By

New Juventus signing Sami Khedira says the history and the current crop of players at the club were the key reasons why he opted for the Italian champions.

The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a possible move to Chelsea or Arsenal in the Premier League but opted for Juventus where he will team up with the likes of Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio in midfield to form one of the strongest teams in the Serie A.

"I am happy and excited to say that I will be playing for Juventus for the next few years," Khedira wrote on his official Facebook page.

"Juventus is a wonderful club with a great history. With Juve everything seemed to fall in place. My discussions with the coach and the club were great.

"I'm very happy to play in a team full of champions and with unbelievable fans. It's a great club with a one of a kind tradition in a very special city!

"I am totally looking forward to an exciting time in black and white."
