Massimiliano Allegri: The conditions of the pitch didn't help

By

Coach Massimiliano Allegri was a relieved man after Alvaro Morata's late strike earned Juventus an important away win against Parma in the Italian Cup.

The Bianconeri progress to the semi-finals after a hard-fought battle against Roberto Donadoni's side and will face the winner of the Roma-Fiorentina game.

"We did well, giving nothing away to Parma," Allegri told RAI Sport.

"The conditions of the pitch didn't help [but] we managed to win it at the very end.

"It was tough, the pitch was poor and Parma were very aggressive."

Allegri rotated his squad for the match and was happy with the performance of some of his players.

"[Simone] Pepe, [Kingsley] Coman, [Angelo] Ogbonna and [Simone] Padoin all did well. The squad is fit and it's important that players who are not used often are fit [at this stage of the season].

"They know that they will be important in the second part of the season."
