Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says midfielder Andrea Pirlo and striker Carlos Tevez will not feature in Thursday's Italian Cup clash with Verona.
The Bianconeri kick off their cup campaign with a home game against Andrea Mandorlini's side with the two teams set to face each other, again at the Juventus Stadium, on Sunday in the Serie A.
"What I can say for sure is that the two players who will not feature are [Andrea] Pirlo and [Carlos] Tevez," Allegri said during his press conference.
"They are not in the squad, they are not available, they need to rest, to train alone so they will not feature [against Verona tomorrow].
"So I have four strikers, two will feature in the first half and the other two in the second.
"As for [Andrea] Barzagli, we're not entirely sure when he will be back. He's responding well to treatment and he worked with the rest of the team this morning. We all hope to have him back as soon as possible."
Asked to give a full update on injured players, the 47-year-old said: "[Luca] Marrone is back in training, he is fit after gastric flu.
"After tomorrow's training session I will assess [Federico] Mattiello and decide if he can start from the first minute.
"[Leonardo] Bonucci was rested due to suspension and we're just back from holidays. [Marco] Motta is not in the squad.
"[Marco] Storari will be in goal.
"[Martin] Caceres is finally fit and he played a very good game on Sunday. We have depth in the squad, having all players available is very important.
"The club is, in the meantime, working to bring new players in."
