Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says his players are ready for the new year after the disappointing defeat in the Italian Super Cup against Napoli.
The Bianconeri wasted back-to-back opportunities to lift the trophy in Doha but Allegri insists the defeat now belongs to the past.
"We had a couple of days off after the first five intensive months of the season," Allegri said.
"There were so side effects after the Doha [defeat against Napoli]. I like to win, always, but the Doha game ended after a 15-penalty shootout in which we had three 'match points'.
"Losing is a shame but I would say that our season has been close to perfect since my arrival in July. For sure is that there is no more room for errors and the closer we get to the end of the season, the closer we get to our objectives: the Champions League, the Italian Championship and the Italian Cup."
Juventus face Internazionale as Serie A leaders but Allegri says anything can happen in the first game of the new year.
"Besides being the 'Italian Derby', tomorrow's game will be one against a team that has recently improved very much," the 47-year-old added.
"The first game of the season is always tough, just look at the results of Real Madrid and Barcelona [yesterday].
"It can be a strange game, it's like the first one of the season where it's not the physical condition or the technical aspect which will decide the game, it's rather who will be more careful and focused on the job."
MartÃn Caceres and Luca Marrone are back in Allegri's squad but defender Andrea Barzagli is still out injured.
"Caceres and Marrone are back in the squad and are available," the Italian explained.
"The only player still out is Barzagli and [of course] Asamoah and Romulo who are out for quite some time. All the others are fit so tomorrow I will have a close-to-full squad to choose from."
