Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was delighted after his side reached the Last 16 of the Champions League.
Before the game the Italian said that he wanted a two-goal margin win but admits making it through the group stage was ultimately the main objective of his players.
"Ultimately it was all about the result," Allegri said.
"That was our main objective. I said before that our first objective of the season was to make it through the group stage of the Champions League, which is never easy.
"Also let's not forget we were in a group made up of four teams that won their domestic league.
"In the second half we tried to score but we also made sure not to take any unnecessary risks. Because had we failed to achieve this objective, we would have been pilloried.
"We are now in the Last 16 and we will now wait for the draw.
"We played two very good games away at Atletico and tonight. Tonight we knew it wouldn't have been easy against a team determined to defend the first place.
"We needed a two-goal margin win but at the same time we knew that with a draw we would have qualified.
"They defend extremely well, I believe they only conceded goals away in Greece, they give very little away and they are incredibly strong in the air.
"So all in all I believe Juventus showed that they can enjoy a positive Champions League."
