Massimiliano Allegri on the defeat and Sunday's game against Roma

By

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says his players will not be demoralised by their 1-0 defeat in the Champions League.

An Arda Turan goal brought Juventus' unbeaten run to an abrupt end but the Italian insists his side will be ready to face another important game on Sunday in the Serie A.

"We tried to win but we failed to do it," Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

"We knew the strengths and weaknesses of Atletico and technically we did well.

"We created chances and gave away very little, we had 3-4 half chances in the second half but missed the last pass and failed to take home a positive result from the game.

"The group is still open, just that today we could have gained an advantage in terms of making it through the group stage."

Asked if the result will affect the players ahead of the Roma game, Allegri said: "Juventus will be fine, it will be a great game.

"We will be ready and tonight's game will not change the confidence or the behaviour of the players."
