Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon says the objective of the team in Europe is to reach at least the quarter-final stage.
The Bianconeri dominated in Italy for the last three seasons but struggled to impose themselves in Europe with Buffon insisting that it is vital to match at least last season's result in the competition.
"We definitely want to reach the same level we reached in the last two years, the quarter-final stage against Bayern Munich," Buffon told reporters on Tuesday evening.
"For us it is important to at least reach this objective.
"Then it depends on a number of factors like the good luck or bad luck of the draw.
Buffon knows that winning at the Vicente Calderon Stadium is not easy as he believes a goalless draw could be an acceptable result for Juventus.
"If we play a good, determined game where we suffer and defend well and we are convinced when on the attack, then no, a 0-0 would not be a bad result," added Buffon.
"It depends on the type of 0-0 scoreline; if we achieve it after a hard-fought game then it would be a good result."
Asked if this could be the year of midfielder Paul Pogba, Buffon added: "We're talking about an incredibly talented player.
"If he keeps this level of awareness, of hunger, of joy for the game, then yes, he can become one of the top two-three players in the history of French football."
