Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri to stay put

Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri revealed he will stay with the reigning German champions for at least one more season.

The 22-year-old received a number of offers from Italy after impressing at the 2014 World Cup Finals but the German club rejected all offers for the talented Switzerland international.

"I wanted to leave Bayern Munich to secure a regular place elsewhere," the winger told Sky Sport Germany.

"But the club decided to keep me. I will therefore continue to do my best here."

Juventus, Roma and Internazionale have all been linked with the player with reports in Spain suggesting that Atletico Madrid were ready to offer £15m for the 22-year-old.
