New International coach Roberto Mancini says his players are confident ahead of the weekend game against Milan.
The former Manchester City boss joined the Nerazzurri after the club opted to axe Walter Mazzarri and will have a tough task on his hand when he takes on Filippo Inzaghi's Milan on Sunday night.
"We're confident, because this is a very important game," Mancini said.
"It will be a difficult game because Milan are strong but we'll do our best to win.
"I must say that my first impression here was a positive one even if I have to face a number of injury concerns. I'm yet to understand the players as nobody gave me information on them so I have to check them out during the game.
"[Fredy] Guarin is a very strong midfielder, he has to be good in covering both sides of the pitch. He can score goals, he will be important for us.
"He [Mateo Kovacic] is quality but we should not make the mistake of thinking he can never make mistakes.
"He needs time, we will work for him, we will help him and he will have chances [to shine]. He should also focus on scoring more goals because his game lacks nothing, he's technical, he can shoot and can dribble his way past opposition.
"I'm yet to see [Gary] Medel and I'm yet to assess Hernanes. But regardless of who will play I can say that tomorrow we will try to play football the way it should be played.
"He [Yuto Nagatomo] can be an asset in the offensive department as well. He will start the game, also because he's our lucky charm in derby games."
