Internazionale coach Walter Mazzarri says patience and fighting spirit are needed for his team to achieve set objectives.
The Nerazzurri were again booed off the pitch after conceding a late equaliser against Verona on Sunday night but the Italian insists that the players are determined to fight until the end of the season.
"It's normal to be disappointed after you fail to win a game like this and when all episodes go against you," Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italy.
"In my opinion the referee could have avoided Medel's first booking.
"Verona closed all gaps at the back although we did manage to find spaces. Then clearly one has to be patient in front of such opposition.
"[Icardi?] He knew I was upset with him for the way we conceded but he kept asking if he could stay on the pitch. I had to change him but he also explained the situation.
"There are no issues, I have a solid relationship with him, one of the best of my career. He simply didn't understand [my instructions] in the heat of the moment.
"[Thohir's project] is a three-year project.
"Also let's not forget that one of our objectives is to help the young players improve. Then it's clear that it's not easy for such an ambitious club to suffer the way we do.
"We struggled for a number of games but we bounced back, we're fighting and we're united."
