Internazionale midfielder Hernanes says the Nerazzurri have done well against Napoli and Cesena and are determined to continue the rise up the table.
With coach Walter Mazzarri opting not to face the press before the game against Sampdoria, it was the 29-year-old's turn to introduce tomorrow's game as he explained that the players need time to start showing consistency on the pitch.
"We did well against Napoli, it seemed over [in the dying minutes] but we managed to get a draw," Hernanes said on Tuesday.
"And we almost took all three points with Mbaye's header.
"We also did well at Cesena, an important win after three games without a win so we're confident, happy and optimistic ahead of upcoming games.
"We definitely can improve [in how we control games]. [At Cesena] we created a lot of chances after we took the lead but what was important was to take all three points because we needed them.
"Football seems to be an easy game but it's not.
"There is potential in the squad but a lot has changed over the last three months ago so we need time.
"We're a new team but we're growing. I believe we played good games [this season] expect when we lost two in a week. But slowly we will grow and we hope to keep showing the form showed against Napoli."
