Mauricio Pochettino: We showed patience, maturity and we fully deserved the win

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for his team and the away fans after last night's 1-0 away win at Qarabag FK.

The win means Spurs are safely through from the group stage of the Europa League and can look forward to Sunday's tough game at home against Chelsea.

"It was a tough game, Qarabag's first loss at home this season and an important win for us – three points and we're into the next round," Pochettino told reporters.

"This was a good win for our mentality, we showed maturity and it was a strong performance.

"It's never easy but we're happy because we showed patience, maturity and we fully deserved the win.

"I'd also like to say thanks to our supporters. They deserve a lot of praise because it's a long, long way to come from London to Azerbaijan and that support is so valuable for us."
