Mauricio Pochettino eager to qualify for Europa League

By

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino says his side will need to win next week's away game against Everton if they are to secure Europa League football next season.

With Chelsea winning the Capital One Cup, the sixth-placed team in the Premier League is guaranteed a place in next season's competition.

And it will be the same for the seventh-placed team if Arsenal win the FA Cup.

"The first half was not easy because Hull are playing to survive," Pochettino told the BBC after today's win over Hull City.

"We're still in the fight to finish fifth.

"The fans needed that - it was a tough season for them too. I want to play in Europe next season - we need to win our one more game to be sure of getting in the Europa League and that is very important."
