Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino was disappointed with the defensive department after the 2-2 draw away at Southampton.
Spurs desperately needed all three points to keep their top four slim hopes alive but twice went behind to goals from Graziano Pelle.
Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli made sure to salvage a point for the visitors as they remain one point above Southampton.
"I'm a little disappointed because we conceded two easy goals and we made a mistake for the first goal, we need to improve on that," Pochettino said.
"After that, we managed the game well, had 60 per cent possession of the ball and we have to recognise it was a tough game at Southampton.
"For me, it was also an emotional game but I say congratulations to the players because it was a difficult match, we were down twice and to come back twice showed character.
"Also, our supporters were brilliant again, I want to thank the Spurs fans because they were fantastic and I felt their support on the pitch.
"They touched me because they backed me a lot. When they sang my name it was the first time I had heard that from them and I appreciated that so much.
"I was focused on my job but was a very tough and emotional game for me. It was difficult because I still love Southampton and I have very good memories here."
