Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says striker Emmanuel Adebayor is still not ready to make his comeback
Asked about the fitness level of the 30-year-old during his pre-Crystal Palace press conference, the manager explained that the Togolese needs "a few more games" before making it back into the squad.
"After the international break, he [Emmanuel Adebayor] came back with a problem with his back and after that, he picked up a virus.
"He's not ready to play. I spoke with him during training on Friday and he told me that he still feels weak and it might be a few games before he plays.
"I have a very good relationship with him. I was a player, I understand my players and it's normal that after the international break he had a problem with his back and hamstring, and it's not easy to feel the same way as before.
"Then he got a virus and it's always difficult to have that and feel ready to play."
Meanwhile, Pochettino confirmed that 24-year-old Kyle Walker will again feature for the Under 21s in order to regain his fitness level.
"Tomorrow he'll [Kyle Walker will] play with the Under-21s again. He needs to be consistent in every training session and start to compete.
"He played well against Manchester City's Under-21s but it's not the same as a training session and then playing.
"He needs to compete and tomorrow is another opportunity to do that - maybe he'll play more minutes than he played against Manchester City.
"He's going the right way and maybe in the next few weeks he'll be ready to start to come back with the group."
