Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says his side deserved to take all three points against Hull City on Sunday.
Spurs were in desperate need of points as they move up to 10th in the table, just two points from fourth-placed Manchester United.
"It was very important this victory because it is important to stay in our position," Pochettino told BBC after the 2-1 win.
"It's an important win for the supporters and the club.
"The second half at the beginning, we showed we were a better team, than the first half. Never easy to play against 10 players but in the end we deserved the victory.
"Hull scored early and it was difficult to manage.
"They tried to pressure us but in the second half we showed a lot of personality and character and we need to keep that in the next few games."
