Mauricio Pochettino says Spurs deserved win, happy with Kane contribution

By

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says his side deserved to take all three points from Villa Park.

Two late goals by Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane cancelled Andreas Weimann's early goal with Spurs now moving up to tenth in the table, just three points from fourth-placed Arsenal.

"We deserved the victory," Pochettino told Sky Sports.

"The team worked hard and showed their character. In the end, the points are the most important thing.

"No [it is not a relief]. If you have a good result, you are a great manager if you lose you are a bad manager. We have our idea, our philosophy and we need time but it was important to get this result today.

"He [Harry Kane] is an important player. We have a lot of very good players.

"It is true the performance like in the last game and today, he maybe deserves to play in the Premier League more. It was a great goal, and a happy goal for him and the team."
