Benjamin Stambouli: The coach wants to play a game that I like

By

New Tottenham Hotspur signing Benjamin Stambouli knows it will be very difficult to secure a regular place with Spurs.

The Frenchman joined on the last day of the summer transfer window and is eager to work hard to impress manager Mauricio Pochettino.

"To be a regular in the first team will be difficult but that is high level football," Stambouli told L'Equipe.

"There are a lot of good players, but that is no problem.

"I also faced competition at Montpellier before being regularly in the first team.

"I met Mauricio Pochettino on Monday. The coach wants to play a game that I like.

"I had a very good feeling. I was welcomed just like in a family. I will start training sessions on Tuesday."

The 24-year-old is a former France Under-21 international who was linked with Swansea and Fiorentina before joining Spurs for an undisclosed fee.
