Danny Simpson completes Leicester City switch

By

Leicester City have officially announced the arrival of Danny Simpson from Queens Park Rangers.

The 27-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Foxes and will be at King Power Stadium for today's Premier League match against Arsenal.

After the transfer became official, manager Nigel Pearson called the player quality as he explained that Simpson will have no trouble in settling down at Leicester.

"I'm really pleased that we have been able to secure a defender of Danny's quality," Pearson told the club's official website.

"He will add more good competition to our squad, which is very healthy for the group.

"He is the kind of character we look for, so I'm sure he will settle in quickly."

The 27-year-old knows it will not be easy to secure a regular place in Pearson's side but is determined to work hard to impress the manager.

"I had a good chat with the manager, who I’m really looking forward to working with," said Simpson.

"He told me that there’s a good group of players here that demand a lot of each other and I think, from speaking to other people, he knows I’ll work hard every day to fit into that."
