Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho ready "to fight" to sign £90million Chelsea target

By

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he would "fight" to sign Gareth Bale if the player becomes available.

Speaking before Tuesday's game against Real Madrid, the Portuguese says he will ask United to sign the 28-year-old if the Spanish giants ever put him up for sale.

Chelsea have also been heavily linked with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.

"[No], it's because he's in the coach's plans and because he also has that motivation to continue at Real," Mourinho replied when asked if he would buy the Welshman.

"If he is not in the club's plans, that with the arrival of another player would mean he was on his way out, I will try to be waiting for him on the other side and fight with other coaches that would want him.

"But if he plays tomorrow [Super Cup final on Tuesday], that is the best confirmation he is wanted by the team."
