Manchester United confirm forward has travelled to Manchester ahead of potential transfer deal

Manchester United have confirmed Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli is on trial ahead of a possible to move to Old Trafford.

The 16-year-old already enjoyed a trial with the club and has been invited for a second trial this summer.

He is expected to join the likes of Millen Baars, Aliou Badara Traore, Largie Ramazani and Theo Richardson who all joined United’s academy this summer.

Martinelli was involved in the Under 17's 2-0 victory over Lincoln City on Wednesday evening.

He came off the bench after an hour of play as the Red Devils won the game with goals from Millen Baars and Brandon Williams.

United have already spent more than £100million this summer but manager Jose Mourinho is also keeping an eye on young players who could be an asset for the future.
