"I would sell" - Former striker urges £40million international star to join Manchester United

Former Premier League striker Dean Ashton says Tottenham Hotspur should sell Eric Dier to Manchester United if they really received an offer in the region of £40million.

Recent reports have claimed that the Red Devils want to add the Englishman to Jose Mourinho's squad.

The Portuguese is eager to add a holding midfielder to his team with Nemanja Matic also linked.

"I would do [sell], yeah," Ashton told talkSPORT.

"I think that's unbelievable money for a holding midfielder.

"I know he is versatile and he has done very well for Spurs, but he doesn't get in their best XI.

"He doesn't get in their best XI!"
