"They want to sign him" - Express Sport claims Manchester United will bid for 26-year-old

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon.

Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that the 26-year-old is being monitored by a number of Italian clubs as well as the Red Devils.

Atalanta and Lazio are both ready to make a move to sign the Dutchman.

It would be a return if he decides to join Atalanta having already spent a season at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in 2015.

Lazio are however determined to make an important offer to secure the services of the Middlesbrough man.

De Roon moved to the Riverside Stadium a year ago after Boro were promoted to the Premier League.

But with the club back in the Championship, the Dutchman is eager to leave to compete in a more important league.
