Five-year contract agreed: Manchester United set medical date for Jose Mourinho's first summer signing

By

Benfica defender Victor Lindelof will have his medical with Manchester United when back from international duty later on this month, Portuguese football expert Jan Hagen has tweeted.

Hagen believes that the 22-year-old will sign a five-year contract to become Jose Mourinho's first summer signing.

The Portuguese is determined to build a title-winning squad capable of also fighting for next season's Champions League.

He says it will be an exciting summer for his squad as they prepare to face the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

"For us it's a fantastic opportunity even because we have returned to the Champions League, we have played a very hard Europa League, for several reasons," Mourinho said.

"But recognise that the best teams are in the Champions League.

"For many of our players to be in the Champions League is a new thing. It is interesting to have the pre-season that we will have, with good games to play, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, Sampdoria and then in August the European Super Cup.

"You have to feel happy to play with the best team in Europe."
