Paul Pogba to Manchester United: Player was close to joining Chelsea last summer

By

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that Jose Mourinho wanted to sign the player when at Chelsea during last summer's transfer window.

The Frenchman is a confirmed target for Manchester United.

But Juventus are not ready to sell one of their most important players having already lost Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid.

"Last year, when the bid came in, I really wanted him to go to Chelsea," Raiola told the London Evening Standard.

"It didn't happen but this year we will see.

"Juve do not want to sell him and there is a chance for us to talk about a new contract. He feels no need to leave.

"But if you come with a project that will make Paul want to leave, we'll talk with the club."
