Euro 2016 star: This is why Manchester United will regret not signing this player

By

Manchester United have made a terrible mistake in not making a winning bid to sign Renato Sanches, former midfielder Nani has said.

The 18-year-old rejected a move to Old Trafford to join Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

The youngster impressed during the Euro 2016 Championship especially against Poland as he scored in normal time and kept his cool to score in the penalty shootout.

The German giants completed a deal in May for the Portuguese midfielder who moved for an initial fee of £27.5million.

"Renato would have been a great signing for Man United, I have no doubts," Nani told The Guardian.

"But he had a choice – and the choice he made was Bayern Munich.

"I hope that he has made a good choice and that he is happy in his career but I think United will now know what a big player they have missed."
