Manchester United in talks with Barcelona for transfer of international star

Barcelona have joined the race to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian according to

Boss Jose Mourinho has already started to revamp his side's defensive department with the signing of Eric Bertrand Bailly.

And recent reports have claimed that he is ready to sell the Italian if an offer in the region of £16million is made.

He came under heavy fire by Manchester United fans after claiming that David De Gea is not on the same level as Italy's Gianluigi Buffon.

"David and Gigi are two of the best in the world – and yes, of course, there are definitely some similarities between them for sure," Darmian said before Spain-Italy.

"But I think Gianluigi Buffon is the best of all time.

"For me, though, as a defender, I feel very lucky to have been able to play in the same sides as both of them."
