Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to make shock £80million offer for midfielder

By

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is a target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, Italy's Corriere dello Sport has revealed.

According to the article, the Red Devils are ready to grant the Portuguese's wish and will offer £80million to sign the Italian.

The youngster underwent surgery on a groin injury last month and will miss the European Championship.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in the 23-year-old.

At the start of the year, agent Donato Di Campli revealed that Bayern Munich could be a possibility if he decides to leave the French giants.

"It would be less complicated for Marco to play for Bayern one day than to join Madrid or Barcelona," he told the same newspaper.

"Both Spanish sides have too many ties with Qatar to do something that could upset PSG.

"[But] we have agreed terms over a new deal.

"It is only a matter of putting it down on paper. Marco will stay with PSG for a long time, at least until 2020.

"This is already the fourth time he has signed a contract renewal since joining PSG.

"He now has to show again that he is worth his wages."
