Manchester United vs Manchester City - Fan Twitter reaction: "Time to bench Wayne Rooney"

By

The Manchester derby ended in a goalless draw as the Citizens went back to the top of the Premier League.

United fans on Twitter were disappointed with the scoreline with some believing it's time for Wayne Rooney to spend some time on the bench.

@raphael223 yes, but I believe Van Gaal philosophy is killing #mufc attacking philosophy. First shot on target came in 82 mins! In a derby!

Disappointing in the end, we were the better side and had our chances, just weren't able to convert..2 draws isn't end of the world #MUFC

If this is the kind of play Van Gaal is gona maintain at Old Trafford then let them play on Monday mornings. #MUFC @SkySportsNewsHQ

Imagine a #mufc front with Martial, Wilson and Lingard. Its time to try something different. Rooney should rest. #ManchesterDerby

Martial is so much fun to watch and I really enjoy watching lindgard playing. Both young players are great #MUFC #BPL #mutd

Rooney can't get a special treatment, make him sit or at least get Wilson for 20 minutes. This can't go on, #MUFC suffers.

Memphis has barely had a sniff in our last 3 games cuz he performed poorly but Rooney does the same thing and doesnt even get subbed #mufc
