Louis van Gaal tight-lipped on De Gea inclusion, says Michael Carrick is back in squad

By

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has refused to confirm whether or not goalkeeper David De Gea will start against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The goalkeeper signed a new four-year contract with the club, only weeks after he was very close to joining Real Madrid.

But when asked if the 24-year-old would make his first Premier League appearance of the season, the Dutchman refused to give a straight answer.

"You shall see - you never know," van Gaal told MUTV.

"is head is empty now and that is important. He can focus but we have to judge him in training.

"Only [Andreas] Pereira came back from internationals with injury. [Michael] Carrick can play. [Phil] Jones still injured but he's going well."
