Louis van Gaal on injuries and "problems" with goalkeeper David De Gea

By

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says the Red Devils are boasting an almost fully fit squad for their Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.

Marcos Rojo and Bastian Schweinsteiger will not start the game as they continue to build their fitness level ahead of next week's away trip to Aston Villa.

The Dutchman also confirmed that goalkeeper David De Gea, who is linked with a move to Real Madrid, is not focused enough to face Mauricio Pochettino's men with Sergio Romero expected to start in goal.

"We have no injuries," van Gaal told MUTV.

"It's unbelievable! But it's not possible for Rojo to be match fit as he was the last player to come back.

"[Bastian] Schweinsteiger came also at the last moment out of his holidays so I don't think he is fit enough. We have to build the fitness he needs."

"It is not easy for David De Gea to manage his situation now.

"You know that we have problems with De Gea. He shall not play, so I don't have any concerns [about him this weekend]."
