Manchester United will use Rafael as bait to sign £25m Chelsea target

Manchester United have opened talks with Benfica to sign Nicolas Gaitan, Rafael's agent Cassiano Pereira has revealed.

A target also for Chelsea, the 27-year-old will join the Red Devils in a deal that will see Rafael move to Benfica.

Pereira believes that there will be no major problems between the two clubs to reach an agreement.

"It's true," he told Record.

"Benfica and Man United are in negotiations over Gaitan – and one offer includes Rafael to join Benfica.

"Rafael wants to join Benfica, they are one of Europe's best clubs.

"If negotiations go according to plan then an agreement will be easy to reach."
