Nani would welcome striker Robin van Persie at Fenerbahce

By

New Fenerbahce winger Nani says Manchester United striker Robin van Persie would be an important signing for his new club.

The Portugal international left Old Trafford after boss Louis van Gaal made it clear that he was not part of his plans for next season.

He signed after the two clubs agreed a £4.25m fee with the Dutch striker the next player on Fenerbahce's shopping list according to reports.

"This is one of the most special days of my life. I am very happy and proud to be part of Fenerbahce," Nani said.

"I have no doubts that I made the right decision to come here. I will give my all for his club.

"[van Persie?] I haven't had the chance to talk with Robin van Persie yet.

"But if he comes to Fenerbahce, I am sure that he will be very successful.

"I know Robin very well and it would be right decision if Fenerbahce sign him."
